A variety of internships are available in the areas of facilities, finance, engineering, information technologies, and many others. Our goal is to help build a pipeline of students who can be available for full-time opportunities after graduation. The internships are structured to provide flexible learning opportunities for students to develop marketable skills.

Information Technology Services
is
comprised of distinct groups:
Computer and Network Support (CNS) and Programming Services.
Computer and Network Support provides comprehensive computer support, network services, server management, security, and coordination with CIT. Currently, we support Facilities Services, Risk Management & Public Safety, CUFA Human Resource Development Services, and CUFA Accounting & Financial Services. With its wide range of expertise in new and emerging technologies, CNS plays a vital role in advancing the mission of the departments it supports. CNS supports over 800 workstations, 54 servers, and numerous systems.
Programming Services' main focus is the development and maintenance of
specialized software systems that support the operations of the division of Facilities Services and other Cornell facilities staff. We take digital security seriously: we control access in a manner that is convenient to the end users while ensuring the privacy and integrity of the information we are presenting. Most of these systems integrate with each other or external systems such as APPS, Accounting, TMA, Registrar, and the Staff Directory, to name a few.

Supply Management State Internships
The Office of Supply Management Services at Cornell University seeks a highly-motivated and talented individual to be part of the analytical and strategic sourcing as a Supply Management Intern. The ideal candidate will have a background or interest in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, or Business Management, has strong quantitative and analytical skills, is innovative and hard working and can work with others to drive results in a matrixed environment. This is a unique opportunity for such an individual to get real world experience in Supply Management and Strategic Planning, a critical and fast growing function in the business world.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Intern will be responsible for performing spend analysis to provide insights into opportunities for strategic sourcing, customer segmentation and strategy development in the procurement functions at Cornell University. Furthermore, this individual will be working experienced procurement professionals and with state of the art Spend visibility tools and e-procurement platforms to help in developing strategies for sourcing, and metrics related to contracts, supplier performance and customer service. Requirements also include interacting with Cornell customers and suppliers to understand needs, solicit feedback and incorporate them into the overall procurement strategy.
Required Skills:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products ( Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Visio)
- Strong Quantitative and analytical skills and the ability to think outside the box
- Ability to work in teams
- Ability to work with little or no direction
- Strong drive for results and willingness to learn and adapt to a changing environment
Desired Skills:
- Previous experience or coursework related to Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Finance, Business or related field.
- Experience with SQL or other database software

Finance Internships
The Division of Financial Affairs at Cornell University seeks students from underrepresented groups including, but not limited to, African Americans, American Indians, and Hispanic/Latinos. Sophomores and juniors in college are needed to work as summer interns in the field of finance. Internships are available in the areas of accounting , audit, procurement, sponsored programs services financial, and tax.
The goal of the internship program is to promote diversity in the finance area at the university giving students hands on experience and a mentoring environment in the field they will intern. Duties include analysis, application of documents and systems in the area, and duties specific to the area.
Internships will run 6 to 8 weeks at 30 to 39 hours per week depending on availability. Interns will be paid $14 to $17 per hour based on experience. Internships would be especially attractive to students who live locally and depending on performance, may be able to return the following summer for a different type of internship. There is no housing available for these internships.
